1. How long have you been in business?
Ash Branding Studio has been in business since 2020.
2. Tell us more about your business, what do you love most about it?
ASH Branding Studio began with my passion for art and design. I wanted to help lifestyle businesses visually communicate a conceptual yet beautiful brand identity that would resonate with their audience.
We use a collaborative creative process to clarify your vision and bring it to life. The result is a captivating visual identity that reflects your brand’s personality, telling one cohesive, beautifully crafted story across your website and all your touchpoints.
We build modern websites to tell your story and connect with your ideal customer. Our goal is to help you confidently sell your goods and services and develop a solid online presence. I believe every business deserves great design.
3. Did you start your business in your home town or here in Catalunya? What was it like to move your business or start from scratch?
I started my business here (as I’ve been living in Barcelona for 16 years now). I previously worked as the Art Director at Barcelona Metropolitan magazine, for 11 years, but I wanted a better work/life balance. So I thought it was the right time to take that next step and become my own boss. It was hard working on my own at first as I’d always worked as part of a team. But I love the flexibility of working independently now.
4. What has been the hardest part of running your business in a foreign town?
One of the hardest things is the language and not feeling fully integrated. This is completely normal with two languages here and I think local people will more often than not choose someone local for design services.
5. Where was your Hometown, and why did you move to Sant Pere de Ribes? What do you love most about living there?
I’m from Ennis in County Clare, on the beautiful west coast of Ireland. We moved to Sant Pere de Ribes because we were looking for a town with a good community and in close proximity to the airport and Barcelona. I love that you can walk through the vineyards around the town and we are also close to the beach.
6. What is the thing you love the most about Sant Pere de Ribes?
I love Plaça Merce (the big square) in the middle of town with cafes and tapas bars. It was a great place to hang out and meet friends when the kids were little. We still enjoy a vermouth there in the sun (minus the kids).
7. For any newcomers what would be your first piece of advice?
My advice for newcomers would be to learn Spanish and integrate. If you have kids sending them to a local school is the best way to do this (from my experience). Or join local groups and clubs so that you can all learn the language.

9. Is there anything happening in Sant Pere de Ribes that we should not miss out on?
There are lots of local festivals that you should add to your diary, Festa Major and Retorn de los Indianos are a highlight every year.

ASH Branding Studio began with my passion for art and design. I wanted to help lifestyle businesses visually communicate a conceptual yet beautiful brand that would resonate with their audience.
With a degree in Visual Communication and Graphic Design, an award from ISTD London (International Society of Typographic Designers) and over 20 years of experience working as an Art Director at Barcelona Metropolitan magazine as well as several agencies in Ireland, I have the knowledge and industry experience to understand the challenges my clients face and how to solve them with simple and effective design solutions.
Ash Branding Studio was named after our Creative Director Aisling (pronounced ASH-ling), meaning “dream” or “vision”. Originally a 17th-century poetic genre in Ireland, Aislings were beautiful stories that brought a vision to life.
It’s a fitting name for our founder and for our studio, both devoted to creating beautifully crafted designs that reflect your vision and serve as effective marketing tools to tell your brand story for years to come.
